Included are typed transcriptions of excerpts from a diary, 1853-1854, of Henry Francis Porcher, Goshen Plantation, St. John's Parish, S.C., and from a diary, 1866-1869, of John Couturier Porcher, Ophir Plantation, St. John's Parish, concerning social and plantation events and travel to Washington, D.C., New York City, and elsewhere in the Northeast.
